You've already been given the link to the rules so there isn't much excuse to that, but you could count that as a small warning. It isn't a severe rule-break, and won't get you into a lot of trouble, but it is the most regularly enforced one, so doing it will get you noticed in a negative way.

And to answer your post, Ghirahim would be my favourite as well. He has a great character arc, and the little twist at the end of the game that he is Demise's weapon is also a nice touch. I like his ambiguous, volatile personality that was introduced the first time you meet him. Overall a great character.
