So, I just got BotW, and I'm super excited. I played for a bit, and I'm at the part where I'm with the Old Man and he's teaching me how to cut down a tree??. I'm sort of stuck, so, I'm also here to ask for help. Other than that for now, you guys have any tips or things that I probably should consider doing in the game? (I have DLC 1 and 2 by the way).?

The direction you're facing is where the tree will fall.
Now, as for some general tips, I recommend essentially raiding every enemy camp you find, and looking for Shrines and Towers. If you find you have a lot of resources, feel free to sell them (alternatively you can make them into Recipes, and then sell them) to make lots of Rupees.
