all of you guys here probably have already seen the botw sequel teaser, and i must ask, how long do you think nintendo would work on it? will it be 4 years just like the first one? or will it be longer knowing that nintendo has other huge projects to work on..

It took Nintendo 7 years to develop OoT after AlttP. About 1.5 years to develop MM after OoT. 2.5 years to develop TWW after MM. 4 years to develop TP after TWW. 5 years to develop SS after TP. About 6 years to develop BotW after SS. Judging by what we saw, My prediction is that this game may be released December 2021, given that it's quite similar to BotW.

All signs point to a release date of 11/20. The only reason they haven't given us a release date is in case the game is held back for certain reasons.

Showing us this cutscene at E3 this year strongly indicates we will get it next holiday season.

The only reason we had such a long stretch in between Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild, is because of BoTW being such a massive game. Well, considering the sequel is using the same engine, that will cut the development time by a large margin, and we'll be getting it alot sooner than we think. I've been doing alot of research, and talking with alot of people that usually have pretty good inside information on certain things Zelda, and everyone I've talked to is confident we could see it next fall if there are no hold-ups, or rework.

3.75 years of development for the sequel is a reasonable amount of time, but what are these "sources" that you have.

Just some bloggers who have always been reliable when it comes to Zelda leaks/upcoming info, etc.

I think considering they're using the same exact engine and are showing us a teaser during this year's E3, I don't think it's beyond impossible that we can see the sequel next winter.

Also, and I'm definitely no expert,. But usually when developing a game, the cutscenes/non-gameplay visuals are usually created and fine tuned towards the ending of game development, which to me would make me believe that they're pretty far into the game itself, if we're getting this kind a full on teaser trailer.

Please be as skeptical as you'd like. I never said I have definitive proof, I'm simply stating there's a high possibility we get the sequel at the end of next year

Nintendo has a lot to work on. and I mean A LOT, they have to make a remake of Link's awakening, many interviews now that they published the trailer to the sequel and they have extra work because they have to make many trailers to keep us zelda fans kalm now and knowing Nintendo they have a lot of amazing games to work on.

There’s a whole team working on breath of the wild alone. That in itself makes things more efficient. And unlike Mojang (ya know, the Company making Minecraft) I doubt Nintendo would put a mere 8 workers in that team. It’s only logical. (When I spoke of 8 workers, I was referring to Mojang only having 8 workers in their graphics team. That’s why they cancelled the super duper graphics pack.)
