"Goodbye, Zeldapedia. This will be sorely missed. I've taken a look at Zelda Wiki, and I think I prefer Zeldapedia. But I can't do anything about it. Bye."

"Farewell, Zeldapedia. Thank you all for what you've done for us, and we will all miss you. 14 years. We've made it this far, and it feels like destiny for Zeldapedia to be merging on its anniversary. A great way to finish something that once had a steady and slow start, but evolved to something great."

"I wasn't exactly planning on making a last post, but whatever. I just need to bid farewell to this place before it's gone for good.
Luckily, I found this place just in time to join the community and get to know the people on here before learning that Zeldapedia will soon cease to exist. A few months later, and I would not have met any of you guys.
I remember the day I discovered the Discussion section on the wiki. I wasn’t particularly interested in joining at first. But then, a few people caught my attention. I saw how some of you guys really tried to keep the community alive, and I was intrigued. How could I ever regret having made the decision to join? You guys welcomed me with open arms and my initial fear of going forgotten or not getting noticed in the first place was quickly wiped away, because really, quite the contrary was the case. It’s weird how I can talk to many people on here as if we’d been friends for years and I hope the community will remain a friendly place where everyone can come to talk about whatever. Thanks to everyone in the community!
Also: Admins, bureaucrats, and editors of the wiki, I bow to you. Holding your ground on here for so many years is truly admirable. Aquila, Ceiling Master, Green Rupee, Nathan and Tirlby, I appreciate all your efforts to maintaining this place and keeping the community safe from all kinds of harm. Even though your sense of humor makes we want to go ham against you sometimes, your impeccable taste in everything, your legendary typos and the care and kindness you give us made my time on here truly enjoyable. (Edit: And it made our community STROGNER ;-) ) Hopefully, we’ll have the pleasure to keep you with us as long as possible!
Thank you, Zeldapedia. For giving me new friends and for sparking a whole new love for my all-time favourite video game series that I grew up on.
I… see you later."

"Thank you to all the users who read my Discussions in the past few months, and thank you to this entire community overall for making this site thrive. I made great friends, friends who introduced me to even more great friends on the Discord server.
Tindomiel3, NathanTheAsian332, SpankyMan, thank you so much for being so kind and welcoming to me. Y'all have become the friends to me that I never knew I could have.
And to the moderators and administrators, the founders and the developers, thank you so much for making Zeldapedia alive and existent, making all of us feel welcome and open to sharing our thoughts and opinions for this epic franchise. All of you that made this possible have helped me and others to form friendships and helped us share our creative ideas and opinions in this community, and for that I greatly appreciate you all.
So, now I will say farewell, and bring my last Discussion to a close. Goodbye Zeldapedia, and thanks again, for what you've done for me, and for all this community."

"It’s time for me to say goodbye. I haven’t been active on here in the latter months but I’d still like to say goodbye to everyone I’ve met. I have met some of my best friends on here. And they will hopefully continue to be my best friends. Through all the sticky situations and ordeals I always floated towards this app. I knew this app I could always find someone fun to talk to about something I liked... Zelda. Nobody in the wide world do I know away from the internet likes Zelda. But I travel here and I can talk to people who do. I mostly use the discord now but I still love this app. It’s an amazing thing this wiki/fandom. And if it wasn’t for this wiki/fandom I’m positive I wouldn’t be the same somothunder. I’d still be me, but different. And although it may sound cheesy, this app did change me. I love you zeldapedia and all its residents. Goodbye. ??"

"I never liked goodbyes.
I was never particularly good at them, and so I avoided them like the plague as much as I could. But whenever I'm forced to look one in the eyes, I tend to sit down and write out unnecessarily long, sappy epitaphs. If that's what you're looking for, then congratulations; you're in the right place.
There are too many people to thank; far too many for me to ever list out completely. AuronKaizer, Ccbermanzzpedia, EveryDayJoe45, Fierce Deku, From Beyond the Stars, Green Rupee, Hylianhobbit, Jäzzi, Jedimasterlink, MaloMart, Minish Link, Oni Dark Link, The Midna, Tirlby, Triforce 14, Xykeb Zraliv. I could go on for paragraphs, so suffice it to say that I'm more grateful to each and every one of you that made Zeldapedia what it is today than I can put into words. Many of you blazed the trail not just for me, but for countless other editors, and inspired us all to make Zeldapedia the best place it could possibly be.
Many of these people have moved on over the years, as people are wont to do. And though the activity (and eventually, I admit, the quality) of Zeldapedia trickled away over time, it always remained a familiar haven for me, and will forever hold a special place in my heart. I was taught so much here, and I've learned more than I can ever explain; strange though it may seem, Zeldapedia helped me to grow and become who I am today.
More than anything, I'm proud. Truly, genuinely proud of what Zeldapedia was; as an encyclopedia, as a website, and as a community. I've had the privilege of contributing here for nearly a decade (which is more like a century in Internet time, it seems), and the honor of serving as a rollbacker, an administrator, and finally a bureaucrat. Putting the Wallmaster image into our Bureaucrat Gallery was something I had only dreamed of doing; it's still a bit surreal to see it there. I was also lucky enough to write for and run the Temple of Courage beginning with its semi-successful revival back in 2015; another aspect of the community that I was fortunate enough to experience in its heyday.
Cliché though it may seem, this is not the end of Zeldapedia. Our time on this site may be drawing to a close, but the community will go on, with a new generation of leaders. Whatever form it takes, be it on a website, a Discord server, or some other form of yet-unforeseen media another decade down the road, there will always be fans of The Legend of Zelda, and there will always be communities that form around it.
The bonds that have formed between people over the 14 years of Zeldapedia's history may wear away or change their shape, but they can never be truly broken. The site may disappear one day, but it will always exist in our memories.
So whoever you are reading this, be you a cherished friend, a casual acquaintance, or a complete stranger stumbling upon the site for the first time, heed my final words of advice: enjoy the time you have doing the things you love with the people you care about. In the end, everyone grows, everyone changes, and we all go through life in all its beautiful ups and downs.
So I wish the best to each and every one of you; to those I knew and to those I may never meet. Go find your passions. Chase your dreams. Make mistakes and learn from them. Cherish the time you have, and perhaps we'll all meet again beyond, in a far green country under a swift sunrise."
.....
This week has been such a roller coaster for everyone here. On June 11, we were first struck with the anticipation of seeing what's going to be in Link's Awakening and Cadence of Hyrule. We got both their release dates, and some good amount of information about them.
At the end of the Direct, we got a reveal for Breath of the Wild's sequel, and the Zelda community exploded.
For the next two days, Nintendo was going all-out with E3 2019. Lots of great information, and our anticipation for the BotW grew as more and more theories were appearing.
Today, is the final day of Zeldapedia, and tomorrow marks the beginning of a new era, one of the Zelda community uniting together after 14 years of a fierce rivalry. I'm sure there are many more out there who have already said their good-byes, and there are simply too many to fit them all in one post.
I just want to say thank you again to everyone for participating here, for editing on the wiki, or joining in on our discussions. Voting for the Temple of Courage, or simply coming in to find information for a Zelda game. Thank you to all the staff members for working so hard on creating this incredible encyclopedia, and those who have stayed behind to keep it up to the very end. And thank you all for making this place such a great community.
Tomorrow is June 15, 2019, the day we merge. What's better than the 15th when it's Zeldapedia's 14th anniversary on that day? It ends where it starts, and that's what I call destiny. Everything comes full circle to a day where it began, and where it ends.
Farewell, Zeldapedia. It's been an honour to be here. It changed my life and many others. It brought friends and even what we consider to be "family". It brought people from the depths of the worst aspects of life, and it gave people something to look forward to, and it gave people a way to relieve stress, a hobby, and a place for them to display their interests without being called out on.
This is my final post here. Good bye, Zeldapedia! Thank you for everything!
