- February 3—The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (manga) is officially released in English.

- March 25—Satoru Iwata announces a new game in the Zelda' series titled The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, to be released later in the year.

- April 3—The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is released in Europe for the Virtual Console
- April 7—The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is released in Japan for the Virtual Console
- April 7—The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (manga) is officially released in English.

- June 2—The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks is put on display at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. A new trailer for the game is also shown as is concept art for an upcoming Zelda Wii game.

- August 4—The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords (manga) is officially released in English.
