- "Often found on the ground near trees. Squirrels adore this nut, so you may have competition while foraging. Add one to a meal for a nutty seasoning."
- — In-game description
Acorns are items from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Acorns are curative items that can be eaten raw to restore Link's health by refilling one quarter of a Heart Container. They are a common nut that can be found near trees in forested areas, and sometimes drop from trees when felled. Squirrels will collect and eat acorns, thus preventing Link from obtaining them. Squirrels can be driven off easily by walking or running in their direction, and they often drop acorns when scared or defeated. Killing one squirrel will scare off any others that are nearby. Acorns can be sold to shops all over the land of Hyrule for 2 Rupees each. It is also possible to use them for brown dye at the Kochi Dye Shop.
Cooking[]
Acorns are main ingredients in Sautéed Nuts and Nutcake. Misa suggests using acorns, her preferred nut, in her nutcake recipe found in Misa's Recipe Book at the Rito Village Slippery Falcon. Acorns can be used as a secondary ingredient in multiple dishes without causing Dubious Food. They can also add a healing effect when added to the recipe of some Elixirs.
Link can roast acorns with a source of fire such as a Campfire or expose them to volcanic heat to create Roasted Acorns. Acorns cannot be frozen.
