"A fossilized resin with a caramelesque sheen to it. It's been valued as a component in decorations and crafting since ancient times."
— In-game description

Amber is a Material from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is commonly found in Ore Deposits in the Eldin province. Amber is the most common of all of the Gemstones. Most Talus and Pebblits drop amber when defeated. Frost and Igneo Talus are the only Talus that will not drop it. Link can also find amber when searching under rocks, in broken wagon carts, and in pots. Three of the rocks in the yard of Link's House will occasionally have Amber under them.

Cottla occasionally rewards Link with amber after he beats her in a game of tag or hide-and-seek. Ten pieces of amber are required during the side quest "The Jewel Trade". The normal sale price for Amber is 30 Rupees. When selling ten ambers at the same time to the jewel trader Ramella, Link obtains a bonus of 200 rupees more than normal, which is 500 Rupees, rather than the normal sale price of 300 Rupees. Amber can be purchased in Tarrey Town from Pelison at Ore and More after Link recruits Pelison's father Greyson during "From the Ground Up", and is sellable to any merchant save for Kilton.

Amber is used in Gerudo Town to craft Amber Earrings at Starlight Memories. According to the earring's description, it can harness the power of the land to increase defense. Link can also use amber to upgrade Armor at a Great Fairy Fountain. It is used to upgrade the Hylian Hood, Tunic and Trousers set.

Its description references its use in decoration since ancient times which likely references the Amber Relics and Ancient Tablet from Skyward Sword as well as its use in crafting Amber Earrings in Breath of the Wild.
