Armos Knights are the bosses of the Eastern Palace, the first dungeon in the game. They are six large blue statues that, despite being armed with sword and shield, simply hop around in predefined patterns. To damage them, Link must shoot them with his Bow; after three hits, a knight will die. Once five are killed, the remaining one turns red and begins stomping aggressively, attempting to crush Link. When Link defeats the final knight he earns a Heart Container and the Pendant of Courage.

Armos Knights reappear as the mini-boss of Ganon's Tower in the Dark World. Except for the ice-covered floor, this battle is the same as Link's earlier encounter. A single Silver Arrow defeats an Armos Knight.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening[]

A single Armos Knight appears in the Ancient Ruins of the Face Shrine region, acting as an out-of-dungeon mini-boss. While its armor is on, arrows are the only thing that can damage it. Once its armor has been destroyed, the Armos Knight becomes vulnerable to Link's sword. It attacks by running toward Link and pounding the ground to stun him. Link can use the Roc's Feather to avoid the shockwaves of the pound attack. Upon defeating this enemy, Link receives the Face Key.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker[]

Armos Knights appear in the Tower of the Gods, the Wind Temple, the Savage Labyrinth, and certain Hidden Holes. In this game, they are large stone statues with horns, a single eye, a hatch resembling a mouth, and a mustache. They will attack Link by charging him if he gets too close. To defeat one, Link must either throw a bomb into its open mouth, shoot a Light Arrow into its eye, or make it fall a long distance. An Armos Knight's mouth opens during brief pauses in its movement, or if Link pierces its eye with an arrow.
