The Back Alley is a location from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It is located within Hyrule Castle Town, and is presumably where most of the residents live. The Back Alley is only accessible when Link is a child, and is blocked by rubble when he is an adult.

Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.
Mamamu Yan's house is located in the Back Alley. During the day it is empty, but at night Mamamu Yan can be found inside looking for her pet dog, Richard. If Link locates the dog behind the booth near the Bazaar, and brings the dog back, he will be rewarded with a Piece of Heart, or five Rupees if the task is completed again. The Back Alley is also the location of the Bombchu Shop, a potentially illegally-run business that is only open at night. The last building that is accessible in the Back Alley, is a house of an unnamed character.
Interestingly, there is a commonly missed scene in the Back Alley following Ganondorf's attack on Hyrule Castle. After Princess Zelda and Impa flee the castle, but before Link pulls the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time, a Hyrulean Soldier can be found in the Back Alley. He is slowly dying, and if Link talks to him he will tell of Ganondorf's betrayal and Princess Zelda's flight from the castle. He will then fall over in a heap, presumably dead. If Link attempts to talk to him again, Navi says the soldier has stopped moving.
