"You caught bee larva in your bottle! Fish love them, and they're also edible and full of nutrients."
— In-game description

Bee Larvae is a recurring item in the Legend of Zelda series.

Appearances[]

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess[]

Bee Larva can be used to restore Link's hearts or as fishing bait. They can be found inside smashed beehives, and can be carried in a Bottle. Ten larvae can be carried in one bottle. If Link decides to ingest the Bee larvae, his health will be recovered at one quarter of a Heart Container per larva (although Link shows signs of distaste after eating them).

Hanch was attempting to get Bee Larvae for his wife, Sera. After many of his failed attempts, Link called a hawk with Hawk Grass and aimed for the bee larvae, hitting it down. Hanch will jump, and start looking around for who knocked it down. He will not take it, and will mumble about not being able to figure out such a good idea. After the beehive is cleared, spawning Rupees can be found in the tree.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks[]

Bee Larva appears as a Treasure in this game. It can be found randomly throughout New Hyrule. It can be sold for fifty Rupees or used to customize certain Train Parts at the Trading Post.
