The Beetle Lord Death Bug is the boss of the Hero's Shrine, the first dungeon in Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. A giant insect, the Beetle Lord Death Bug shoots lasers at Tingle, causing damage upon contact. Tingle can defeat the creature by throwing multiple Tingle Bombs at its human-like face, situated atop its large, insectoid body.
After the Beetle Lord Death Bug is defeated, Tingle and Teddy Todo recover the Rupee Shards left behind by the boss, totaling 1,000 Rupees, as well as the Metal Rupee. As they attempt to make their way out of the dungeon, however, Teddy Todo becomes stuck. Tingle must pay him the sum of 100 to "help" Teddy free himself.
