- "Made for paddling boats, but it was made study enough to fight strong currents. Maybe it's useful for self-defense in a pinch."

The Boat Oar is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link can use them as an improvised two-handed weapon. Enemies may also pick up and wield one if it is nearby. Armes in Lurelin Village also carries one around with him.
Like all wooden weapons, it burns when it comes in contact with fire and it does not attract lightning during thunderstorms. Link can use it as a makeshift torch, although this reduces its durability and it will eventually burn up if it burns for too long. Due to its length, it is useful for lighting high stationary torches like the ones in Lurelin Village.
It has a base attack power of 14 and is the third strongest improvised two-handed weapon in terms of base attack power after the Moblin Arm and Farming Hoe respectively, though is stronger than both of them in terms of durability. Its high durability is likely due to it being designed to deal with the stresses of paddling against strong currents.
Several Boat Oars spawn in Lurelin Village which occasionally respawn after Link leaves the area, making them easy to obtain. As it is a two-handed weapon, it can be used to break open wooden and metal crates with a single swing and is capable of knocking Bokoblins, Moblins, and Lizalfos off their feet. However as it is a two-handed weapon, Link must sheath it in order to use a Shield.
Ironically, Link is unable to use it for its intended purpose and can only use it as a weapon or a torch (as the Korok Leaf is used to sail Rafts in Breath of the Wild).
