Brant is a character from The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. One of the Four Knights of the Cobble Kingdom, he was the fourth ranked of the order during his lifetime.
During the events of Phantom Hourglass, Brant, along with the rest of the knights, has long since passed away. Link encounters Brant's ghost on the Isle of the Dead, where Brant is overjoyed to see that Link has the spirits of "Power, Wisdom, and Courage." Because of this, he gives Link his Regal Necklace, allowing the hero to dispel the high velocity winds surrounding the Isle of Ruins.
Etymology[]
It is probable that Brant is named after Brent, one of the Carpenters from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. This seems likely because the Four Knights of the Cobble Kingdom as a whole seem to be based off of the Carpenters, seeing as there are four in each group and the knights serve King Mutoh while the Carpenters serve Mutoh.
It is also possible that "Brant" is a portmanteau of "Brent" and "Brac"; Brac being a Carpenter from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
