"This crab appears in large numbers when it rains. One bite of its delectable meat, and you'll forget all your exhaustion. Replenishes your stamina when cooked in a dish."
Hyrule Compendium

Bright-Eyed Crabs are items from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. They are rare crabs that appear in large numbers in certain areas when it rains. They are curative item that restores Link's health by refilling one Heart Container. Link can roast them with a source of fire or volcanic heat to make Blackened Crabs, or freeze them using cold water, extremely cold weather, or ice elemental weaponry to create Frozen Crabs. He can throw Bright-Eyed Crabs into a Cooking Pot to prepare dishes granted with a "Energizing" effect temporarily restoring a part of the Stamina Wheel. It can also be cooked with "Energizing" critters such as Restless Crickets or Energetic Rhino Beetles, and Monster Parts to create a Energizing Elixirs.

Due to the rain produced by the Divine Beast Vah Ruta, one of the best places to hunt for them is Zora's Domain before defeating it. The travelling merchant Bugut stocks up to 3 Bright-Eyed Crabs for 40 Rupees (120 Rupees for all three), though only when the weather is clear or cloudy as he replaces his normal Energizing ingredients with Enduring ingredients. The traveling merchant Chumin also stocks up to 3 Bright-Eyed Crabs for 40 Rupees, though only when the weather is clear or cloudy as he replaces them with Hearty Blueshell Snails when it is raining. They also appear when it rains near Zelo Pond in Lanayru Wetlands. They are most commonly found in Lanayru Great Spring and certain areas of Eldin Canyon when it rains.
