- "According to legend, this cap was crafted for a hero who travels the wild lands. Wearing it just feels so right."
- — In-game description
The Cap of the Wild is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is head armor from the "Wild" set, which also comprises the Tunic and Trousers of the Wild. Link can obtain the pieces of this set at the Forgotten Temple as rewards after completing the side quest "A Gift from the Monks". This armor set is the Breath of the Wild version of the famous Hero's Clothes, intended for Link as a gift from the Sheikah Monks for completing all 120 Shrines. Unlike the other Hero's Clothes that are featuring items in reference to previous episodes, the "Wild" set can be dyed different colors at the Kochi Dye Shop.
The Cap of the Wild is tied with the Soldier's Helm, Diamond Circlet and Ancient Helm for having the highest defense among headwear, but it has the added benefit of improving the power of the Master Sword. It pays for these advantages with the difficulty of obtaining it, as well as the rare upgrade materials it uses.
