The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time[]
The Chamber of Sages exists within the Temple of Light, which is in turn found within the Sacred Realm. Seven years after removing the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time, Link awakens in the Chamber of Sages, where he finds himself face to face with Rauru, the Sage of Light. Rauru explains the current situation, and informs Link that he must rescue the remaining five sages from various dungeons throughout Hyrule. Before he departs on his quest, Rauru presents him with the Light Medallion. For every dungeon Link completes, another sage presents him with another medallion. The symbols on these medallions are seen on the platforms on which the Sages stand.
Once all six medallions are gathered, they are able to create a rainbow bridge that provides access to Ganon's Castle. The Chamber is seen one last time after Link's battle with Ganon. At the admonition of Princess Zelda, the hidden Seventh Sage, all the sages combine their power in order to seal Ganondorf away in the Sacred Realm.
At one point, a rumor had circulated that the Triforce could be found and obtained in this chamber. However, this claim has been verified by Nintendo to be a hoax.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds[]
After rescuing one of the Seven Sages, Link is sent to the Chamber of Sages where Link may commune with whomever he has rescued. A rescued Sage will, unlike in Ocarina of Time, remain visible whenever Link returns to the chamber. He may even walk around and talk to them at his leisure. To exit the area, Link must enter the transporting light pillar in the center of the Chamber's central platform.
Once all seven sages have been rescued, their platforms will rise up from the floor, forming a staircase to a platform at the very top of the chamber, where Link claims the Triforce of Courage.
