The Climber's Bandanna is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is head armor created using ancient technology that enhances the wearer's core strength to improve their climbing ability. It can be obtained from a Treasure Chest in the Ree Dahee Shrine. The Treasure Chest is located near the Shrine's final orb puzzle and requires Link to lock the final platform switch down with either using weight provided one of the two metallic Barrels found near the final orb slot which Link can move using Magnesis Rune or step on the switch then lock it down temporarily with the Stasis Rune then use the flying platform to reach the other side and walk up the platform to the chest before Stasis runs out. The barrel method is ideal as Link only requires one barrel to hold down the switch and Link doesn't have to worry about his time running out as the platform will return to its normal position once Stasis runs out.
It grants Climb Speed Up when worn and despite its slightly different name is part of the "Climbing" armor set along with the Climbing Gear and Climbing Boots. Due to its location it is likely the first piece of the set that Link obtains as the Ree Dahee Shrine is along the northern path that cuts through Dueling Peaks. After completing the Side Quest "From the Ground Up", Link can purchase it from the Rare Armor Shop allowing Link to reacquire it if he sold it. It can be dyed at the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village.
Wearing any individual piece of the climbing gear boosts climbing speed by +20%. Wearing two pieces increases this speed to +25%, and wearing the full set increases climbing speed to 30%. Stamina consumption increases in line with the speed increase with each set piece worn; the climbing set does nothing to save stamina over distance.
The Climber's Bandana has average defense for a piece of headwear. While it is adequate for combat, there are better options for damage reduction.
Set Bonus[]
If upgraded to Level 2 (★★) or higher along with the rest of the armor set it grants the Climbing Jump Stamina Up set bonus which reduces the amount of stamina required to jump by 50% while climbing when the entire set is worn, and only uses slightly more energy than climbing without jumping for the full set over the same distance while being much faster. This makes the armor set ideal for climbing.
