The Dark Hood is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is a head armor that Link can purchase from the Fang and Bone shop for 1,999 Mon. It is a special cap created by Kilton and based on a monster born from shadows, a monster that is probably a reference to Dark Link or one of its incarnations. It is part of the "Dark" armor set which makes Link look like Dark Link when worn. Wearing all three pieces grants a Night Speed Up bonus that increases Link's movement speed during nighttime. This nighttime speed boost is identical to that of the Sheikah outfit. Unlike most other armor pieces, the Dark Hood (along with the rest of its set) cannot be upgraded, giving it a very poor defense potential.
When wearing the complete Dark set, Link causes other characters to react in alarm, though they can still be interacted with normally.
