"You got Dimitri's Flute! Dimitri will come to your aid when you play it."
— In-game description

Dimitri's Flute is a flute that appears in both The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. When played, this allows Link to call Dimitri, the Dodongo.

Appearances[]

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages[]

Link must purchase the Strange Flute from the Lynna City Shop after the Moonlit Grotto has been completed, but before going to the Nuun Highlands northwest of Lynna City. Upon meeting Dimitri the second time in the Fairies' Woods, the Strange Flute will become Dimitri's Flute. If Link fails to obtain the Strange Flute before going to the Nuun Highlands, or obtains the Strange flute by means other than the Lynna City Shop, he will be unable to be paired with Dimitri.

If the Nuun Highlands northwest of Lynna City takes on a river-style terrain with waterfalls and strong currents, it can be considered a proof that Link will receive Dimitri's Flute later on.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons[]

Link must win the Strange Flute from the Subrosian Dance Hall before he meets Ricky in Natzu. After dancing successfully several times in a row after obtaining the Boomerang, Link will receive this flute as the prize. Upon Meeting Dimitri in Spool Swamp, the Strange Flute becomes Dimitri's Flute. If Link fails to obtain the Strange flute before going to Natzu, or he obtains the strange flute by means other than the Subrosian Dance Hall, he will be unable to be paired with Dimitri.

If the Natzu area north of Horon Village takes on a river-style terrain with waterfalls and strong currents, it can be considered a proof that Link will receive Dimitri's Flute later on.

Linked Game[]

During a Linked Game, Link will not be able to obtain a Strange Flute in the second game. If Dimitri was picked in the original game, he will also become Link's companion in the second game.
