- "Smaller than horses, these are raised a livestock in the countryside, so they don't exist in the wild. They're more powerful than they look and specialize in transporting baggage. This has made them popular with traveling merchants."

They are equines smaller and stockier than horses with shorter manes, though are depicted as stronger than they look as than are capable of pulling and carrying heavy loads. Like Horses, Donkeys are know to be native to both Termina and Hyrule. Unlike horses, all donkeys encountered in The Legend of Zelda series are all shown to be domesticated.
Appearances[]
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask[]
A donkey is used by Cremia to pull her milk wagon. If Link helps Romani repel Them on The First Night, he can help Cremia deliver her milk to the Milk Bar the following morning, protecting the cart and donkey from the Gorman Brothers who seek to destroy her cargo in order to hurt Romani Ranch's business. Like Hyrulean donkeys, Cremia's donkey is shown to be quite strong as it is capable of pulling a wagon carrying Cremia, Link, and a large supply of milk.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild[]
According to the Hyrule Compendium, donkeys are raised as livestock in the countryside and as a result they do not exist in the wild. Donkeys can sometimes be found in stables throughout Hyrule, they also frequently accompany merchants such as Agus, Cambo, and Chumin who favor them over horses due to their greater strength. One donkey can be found in the corral near The Great Ton Pu Inn in Hateno Village. Unlike horses, Donkeys cannot be killed making them one of the few animals in Breath of the Wild that cannot be killed though this is common with most domestic animals save for horses.
