The Earth Temple Key is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. It is used to open the entrance to the Earth Temple. When Link first arrives at Eldin Volcano, he finds the key was broken into five pieces and scattered throughout the volcano. Link must use the dowsing ability on the Goddess Sword to locate the pieces, and then use the Digging Mitts to unearth them.
