The Eightfold Blade is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is a one-handed Sheikah sword with a base attack power of 15, though this may be increase by certain weapon bonuses. One can be obtained from a Treasure Chest found inside the Suma Sahma Shrine while another inside the Wahgo Katta Shrine. A blade appears in a rock atop a mountain located on the west side of Lantern Lake and another will eventually mysteriously appear in its place if Link removes it making it a great place to acquire replacements.
The Eightfold Blade is a traditional single-edged sword forged using Ancient Sheikah technology. It is potentially one of the sharpest conventional weapons ever made. Some Sheikah at Kakariko Village such as Cado and Dorian, are equipped with Eightfold Blades though they carry them sheathed to their waist much like how Impa carries her weapon in Ocarina of Time. Close examination of the Eightfold Blade reveals a Sheikah emblem etched into the metal of the blade. In Recovered Memory #17: "Zelda's Awakening", one of the unnamed Sheikah warriors that find Link and Zelda carries one sheathed on his back like Link does.
Etymology[]
The shortsword's name may be a reference to the Eightfold Path from Buddhism.
