"This precious scale fell from the golden spirit Farosh. It contains powerful electricity within. You can cook with it, but just eating it seems like a waste."
— In-game description

Farosh's Scales are items from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. They can be obtained by shooting Farosh's body with an arrow. The dragon flies around Lake Hylia, the south western point of Gerudo Summit or Lake Floria. Link can either shoot while airborne or shoot from certain elevated positions such as Bridge of Hylia or Floria Bridge when it flies by. A scale is needed during the shrine quest "The Serpent's Jaws" and must be dropped in front of the Goddess Statue at the Spring of Courage to open a pathway to the hidden Shae Katha Shrine.

Link can obtain more scales or other dragon parts by shooting Farosh's body, claws, horns, or mouth. Link can only obtain a single part from Farosh per encounter. Farosh's Scales have a variety of uses such as materials for upgrading certain Armor via Great Fairy. Link can sell them to shops and merchants for 150 Rupees or to Kilton at the Fang and Bone for 60 Mon. Link can also cook with them as additional ingredients to increase the chances of critical success boosting the effects of certain dishes or Elixirs.
