- "This rare lizard can be only found in the Eldin region. Its scales have heat-resistant properties, so when cooked with monster parts, it produces a heat-resistance elixir."

Fireproof Lizards are items from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link can cook with them and monster parts to create Fireproof Elixirs granting him the Flame Guard effect and protecting him from the volcanic temperatures of Eldin Canyon and Death Mountain. If cooked alone or with other cooking ingredients without monster parts, they will usually result in the Dubious Food.
Fireproof Lizards and Smotherwing Butterflies are the only ingredients in Breath of the Wild that can be used to cook Fireproof Elixirs, and as a result Link can cook them together as long as he uses either a monster or guardian part in the recipe. However Smotherwing Butterflies tend to produce a far greater Flame Guard effect than Fireproof Lizards.
Fireproof Lizards are only native to the Eldin province thus are only found in Eldin Canyon and Death Mountain regions. The best place to hunt for them is the Southern Mine as they appear under rocks or can be found on the ground. They will run however if they detect Link's presence if he makes too much noise. Link can increase his stealth by wearing armor that grants Stealth Up or by consuming Sneaky Elixirs (he should be wearing "Flamebreaker" armor set pieces if he is in an area of volcanic heat) or "Sneaky" food dishes. In addition to increasing Stealth, Link can approach them without spooking them by walking slowly or by crouch walking. Link can also shoot them with an arrow which will kill them allowing Link to pick them up easily. Beedle sells them at certain Stables.
