The Fisherman's Shield is an item in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is a wooden Shield used by fisherman in Hyrule which Link can equip. Several Fisherman's Shields spawn in Lurelin Village. One also spawns behind a broken stone column in the northeast portion of Rabella Wetlands. It has a base defense power of 3, though this may be increased by a Shield Guard Up bonus. As it is a wooden shield Link can use it to collect Arrows that get lodged in the shield, however it will burn if exposed to fire or volcanic temperatures forcing Link to unequip it to prevent if from burning up completely. Due to its light construction it floats in water.
Link can also take its picture with the Camera Rune to add it to the Hyrule Compendium, where it is listed as entry number 355 in the Compendium's Equipment section. East Necluda and Hebra Mountains are listed in its common locations section in the Hyrule Compendium.
Fish Design[]
The fish design on the Fisherman's Shield can be found on flags and rugs in Lurelin Village indicating that the design is a prominent symbol in Lurelin Village, though this is likely due to it being a symbol that represents hope for a good catch, which would be very important to the people of Lurelin Village as much of their economy is based on fishing, thus explaining its prominence in the village.
