Flying Skulls are recurring enemies in the Legend of Zelda series. The appear as Skulls that fly at Link in an attempt to damage him.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past[]
Flying Skulls appear within several dungeons. They appear identical to the heads of Stalfos and are sometimes found within the remains of Stalfos bones. They will actively follow Link but can be destroyed with the sword.
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap[]
Flying skulls are commonly hidden amongst groups of regular skulls. When Link approaches them, they will begin to shake and then fly towards Link to cause damage. Link can smash Flying Skulls with his sword or shield.
