— Fyer

Fyer is a character from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. He is the proprietor of the Human-cannonball Ride at Lake Hylia, working together with Falbi. Fyer is a squat, chubby man who wears clown-like makeup on his face. On the right sleeve of his pink shirt, a Banzai Bill can be seen.

Biography[]

Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.

Together, Fyer and Falbi opened the Fyer and Falbi's Watertop Land of Fantastication attraction in the Lake Hylia area, which consists of the Human-cannonball Ride and Falbi's Flight-by-Fowl. Also, at one point, Fyer became indebted to Auru after Auru apparently saved his life.

When Zora's Domain is frozen over, the buoyant cannon house he lives in is stuck at the bottom of Lake Hylia. Link manages to thaw Zora's Domain out of the ice and restore the waterflow, allowing Fyer to resume his business. Later, when Link must reach the Gerudo Desert and the Arbiter's Grounds located therein, Auru tells Link to show a memo to Fyer. Fyer repays his debt to Auru by using the cannon to transport Link to the Gerudo Desert, in what he calls the Oasis Flight. Later, Link requires Fyer's aid in repairing the Sky Cannon; a huge cannon serving as a portal to the City in the Sky found in the basement of the Sanctuary and transported to Lake Hylia with Midna's assistance. Fyer charges Link a sum of 300 Rupees for the repair. In the ending credits, Fyer can be seen riding Falbi's Flight-by-Fowl with Falbi.

Spoiler warning: Spoilers end here.

Etymology[]

The name Fyer is derived from the verb "fire", as in to cause a weapon to go off, which is a cannon's primary purpose. The name may also be derived from the word "fly", as his assistance is needed to help Link fly out of Lake Hylia.
