The Game Developers Conference, also known as the GDC, is an annual expo for video game developers that started in 1988. In recent years, the Game Developers Conference has generally been a big time for the Legend of Zelda series and Nintendo as a whole, as many big announcements have been revealed here.

The Game Developers Conference, then named the Computer Game Developers Conference, was organized by Chris Crawford in 1988. What started as a small game developer get-together has since turned into the largest annual gathering of professional video game developers.

2005[]
A trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was shown. It depicted Link exploring several areas and dungeons, while confronting a vast array of different enemies and bosses. At the end of the trailer, a clip was shown of a wolf howling at the moon. While Link becoming a wolf was not known to the public to be part of the game at the time, many correctly speculated from the trailer that the wolf was Link, and rumors of this began circulating around the gaming community.

2007[]
Nintendo confirmed a 2007 holiday season release for Phantom Hourglass.
2009[]
