Giant Blade Traps are recurring obstacles from the Legend of Zelda series. They are extremely large Blade Traps.
Appearances[]
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past[]
Giant Blade Traps appear in Misery Mire, the Ice Palace, and Ganon's Tower. They perform the same sliding attack that ordinary Blade Traps do in most games; remaining stationary and dashing in one of the four cardinal directions toward Link when he steps in line with them. Though larger, they deal the same amount of damage as regular Blade Traps and move at the same speed.
In the beta designs, Giant Blade Traps has pair of "edges" from both directions looks slightly long with green square from the end. From the cross direction, each has extra spikes.
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons[]
Embedded with emblems of skulls on top, Giant Blade Traps act similar to regular Blade Traps. Due to their size, they move slightly slower than regular Blade Traps, but they take up much more room and inflict much more damage. Following a set path, Giant Blade Traps can easily be avoided with concentration; however, they cannot be harmed or deterred in any way. The orange ones encircle any nearby blocks in a clockwise pattern, while the red ones move counter-clockwise.
