Goponga Island is a location from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is located in the Lanayru Wetlands region of Hyrule.

At some point in the past the island was inhabited as the Goponga Village Ruins can be found here. Presumably it was destroyed either during the Great Calamity or Age of Burning Fields.

Etymology[]

Like many locations in Breath of the Wild, Goponga Island is named after a location from a previous game, namely Goponga Swamp.
