Goron Elder is the title given to an elderly Goron who holds some kind of leadership role for the local Goron tribe. Sometimes, a Goron Elder holds supreme power over their tribe, but for the most part, they serve and give advice to the youthful Goron Patriarch. Specific elders are listed below.

Appearances[]

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask[]

The unnamed Goron Elder also serves as the Goron Patriarch over his tribe in Snowhead and wields complete power. It is not clear exactly how old the Goron Elder is, but examining his diminished physique and his hunched body, it seems that he is exceedingly old. Link helps him by unfreezing him and comforting his son.

After the perpetual winter has ended and spring arrives in Snowhead, the Goron Elder reveals his plan to hand over the title of Patriarch to the youthful Goron hero Darmani. In turn, the Goron Elder plans to keep the tile of Elder and act as Darmani's adviser.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages[]

The unnamed Goron Elder appears to not be a Goron Elder at all, but, instead, the Goron Patriarch over the Rolling Ridge Goron tribe in past Labrynna. Link saves him after a cave-in by bringing a Bomb Flower to the tribe members attempting to clear the rubble.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess[]

Main articles: Gor Amoto, Gor Coron, Gor Ebizo, and Gor Liggs

There are four Goron Elders with the prefix "Gor": Gor Amoto, Gor Coron, Gor Ebizo, and Gor Liggs. They advise the Goron Patriarch, Darbus. When the patriarch becomes too old to fulfill his warrior duties, he will in turn hand off the title of patriarch to a younger Goron and likely become a Goron Elder. This is the case with Gor Coron, who was once the Patriarch of the tribe but passed the title off to Darbus when he grew too old. Interestingly, when two elders disagree, they settle their differences by sumo wrestling.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks[]

The Goron Elder resides in Goron Village in the Fire Realm. He allows Link to enter the path leading to the Fire Sanctuary where he can meet the Lokomo Embrose after the hero saves the village. The Goron Elder is aided by the youthful sage of the same race, Kagoron, who may be the Goron Patriarch.
