- "These creatures prefer exceptionally damp environments. They will encompass and digest anything they can absorb into their gelatinous bodies. As they have no genders, they are believed to increase their population by dividing themselves into several smaller-sized Chuchus."
- — Fi
Green ChuChus are recurring enemies in the Legend of Zelda series. Gelatinous blobs, they are a variety of ChuChu. They are often slightly more resilient than Red ChuChus.
Appearances[]
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask[]
Green ChuChus are common enemies and can be easily defeated with a single sword strike. They contain Magic Jars inside them, which are dropped when they are killed.
Tatl's Note[]
“It's nothing to be afraid of...It usually has something in its stomach that's of use.” |
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker[]
Green ChuChus are more resilient than Red ChuChus, able to take more hits, hide in certain Barrels without jumping out and dodge attacks by collapsing into formless puddles of goo. When defeated, they drop Green Chu Jelly, which, when brought to Doc Bandam, can be made into Green Potions.
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap[]
Green Chuchus appear around Lake Hylia and the Minish Woods. Though they appear earlier than Red ChuChus, there is no difference between the two, the only exception being that Red ChuChus have more attack power. A Green ChuChu appears as the first boss of the Minish Cap, in Deepwood Shrine, defeated as Link in his Minish form.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass[]
Green ChuChus are slightly different than Red ChuChus, but are just as easy to defeat. The only noticeable difference, aside from the colorization, is that the green variety is able to collapse into a puddle, making it immune to attack. A quick Boomerang strike, however, is all that is needed for Link to get in the one sword strike necessary to kill them. Once the Bow is obtained, it is also an effective way to take them out from a distance. This variety of ChuChu only appears in the Temple of Courage.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword[]
Green ChuChus have the same eyes as in the previous games, but their body shape is very flat, and they appear to move like slugs. They have gaps on one side of their bodies, which look like empty eye sockets, but mirrored on the other side, there are real eyes. Green ChuChus attack by lunging at Link and digesting him. Green ChuChus are the first color in the game to be seen and is the least threatening as Red ChuChus can set Link on fire.
Fi's Note[]
“These creatures prefer exceptionally damp environments. They will encompass and digest anything they can absorb into their gelatinous bodies. As they have no genders, they are believed to increase their population by dividing themselves into several smaller-sized Chuchus.” |

Hyrule Warriors Legends[]
- "ChuChus can't be defeated with conventional attacks and will damage you if you try. Fish a different way to defeat them!"
- — ChuChus Tutorial description
Green ChuChu in their The Wind Waker design appear as enemies. Like all ChuChu in Hyrule Warriors Legends, they will cause damage to the player if they are attacked with combos and must be flattened with the Hammer in order to defeat them. Like their Majora's Mask incarnation, they drop Magic Jars after they are defeated.
