- "After a lot of hard practice and training, we finally have the skill to hit the bull's eye while riding like the wind! When you finally learn how to ride a horse, you should come back and try it. It's a dangerous sport, but it's fun!"
- — Gerudo Master of Horseback Archery
The Horseback Archery Range is a location from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Located in the open area north of the Gerudo's Fortress, Link can participate in the archery game after obtaining Epona and the Gerudo Membership Card. In real life, horseback archery is considered to be an extremely difficult discipline – great skill and enormous levels of practice are required to become even passably competent.
For twenty Rupees, Link is given twenty arrows to shoot at targets while Epona gallops from one end of the course to the other on a preset path. If Link hits either a pot or the center of the large circular targets, he will earn 100 points. If he misses the center of the circular targets, but still hits it, he will still receive points based on how far away from the center the arrow hit. If Link obtains 1000 points before the game ends, he will be given a Piece of Heart by the Gerudo running the game. If he tries again and earns over 1500 points, he will be given a larger quiver.
