Hoz is a character from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. He is a Hylian soldier that is hired to defend the East Akkala Stable in the Akkala Highlands region of Hyrule.
Hoz is a Hylian male with dark complexion, a mustache, and a goatee. He wears a Soldier's Helm and wields a Soldier's Spear which he uses to defend the East Akkala Stable.
He takes his job very seriously and is suspicious of the monster researcher and owner of the Fang and Bone shop, Kilton, whom he and stable workers consider a shady character.
Side Quest[]
After obtaining the Camera Rune, Link can talk to Hoz which leads to the Side Quest "A Shady Customer", in which Hoz asks Link to investigate Kilton. Link must take a picture of Kilton and show it to Hoz who rewards Link with a Silver Rupee.

As Hoz works as a soldier for hire who lives in Akkala, it is possible he is a descendant of one of the Hylian Soldiers who fought defending the Akkala Citadel as he is too young to have lived when the battle of the Akkala Citadel took place. It is possible that the helmet he wears and spear he wields may have been owned by his ancestor and Hoz chooses to follow the same career path by working as a solider for hire, leading to him being employed by the East Akkala Stable due to the monsters and suspicious characters. Alternatively, he may simply be a Hylian inspired by tales of the soldier's valiant defense of the Akkala Citadel and decided to become a soldier to protect others. If true he either purchased or obtained the Soldier Helm from a fallen soldier.
