The Hurricane Spin is a recurring skill in the Legend of Zelda series. It is an improved version of the normal Spin Attack and is performed similarly by charging Link's Sword using the B button. However, the Hurricane Spin, when used, unleashes a huge spin attack that lasts many rounds, allowing it to deal far more damage. When the attack is finished, however, Link becomes dizzy and immobilized for several seconds unless he finishes the move by colliding into a barrier of some sort or picks up an item during the technique.

Appearances[]

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition[]

The Hurricane Spin can be performed after Link has completed all three doors in the Hero's Trial. In the original release of The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords, a similar technique called the Whirlwind Sword Attack was available.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker[]

The Hurricane Spin can be learned from Orca when Link obtains ten Knight's Crests. The technique requires a small amount of magic power to be used. It is especially useful in instances such as the battle with Jalhalla, the boss of the Earth Temple, when it splits into many smaller Poes, as it can strike many of them at once. The Hurricane Spin is not very helpful against ReDeads though, as their scream will still paralyze Link even if he is in the middle of a Hurricane Spin, thus cancelling it out.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures[]

The Hurricane Spin Attack can only be performed after gathering 2,000 or more Force Gems, fully restoring power to the Four Sword. It is performed by charging the standard Spin Attack until Link holds his sword behind his back. It is useful when fighting Phantom Ganon and Ganon because it can reflect their attacks multiple times.
