"A job where you can make a lot of money without much effort... The only thing I can think of is thievery... Is that a bad idea?"
— Ichiro

Ichiro is a character from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. A gossipy Hylian man, he is one of the Carpenters working for Mutoh.

Biography[]

Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.

When Link is a child, Ichiro can be found in Kakariko Village with the other Carpenters. They are employed by Impa to turn Kakariko Village into a grand city like Hyrule Castle Town, but they are all too lazy to get any work done. To escape from Mutoh's watchful eye, Ichiro hides out in the abandoned house on the hill. If Link visits him, the Carpenter foreshadows future events by speaking about becoming a thief to gain massive amounts of wealth. If Link attempts to enter the house through the backdoor, Ichiro refuses him entry, but informs him that Grog is Mutoh's son.

When Link awakens from his seven year slumber in the Sacred Realm, he finds Mutoh in Gerudo Valley where he tells Link that all of his workers ran away to the Gerudo's Fortress, in hopes of joining the Gerudo band of thieves. When Link travels to the fortress, he finds that all of the Carpenters have been imprisoned by the Gerudo. Link rescues Ichiro, and the Carpenter travels back to Mutoh and helps repair the bridge in the valley, with the aid of the other freed Carpenters.

When Link defeats Twinrova in the Spirit Temple, Ichiro will comment about Ganondorf being the king of the Gerudo, when he is spoken to in Gerudo Valley.

Interestingly, when Link rescues Ichiro from Gerudo Fortress, the Carpenter refers to Link as being "cute".

Spoiler warning: Spoilers end here.
