"I know of a mysterious song that allows you to manipulate the flow of time... ... If you play that mysterious song backward, you can slow the flow of time."
Stylin' Scarecrow

The "Inverted Song of Time" is a song from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It is a variation of the "Song of Time", taught to Link by the Stylin' Scarecrow. Rather than sending Link back in time, the song slows down the passage of time; specifically, it slows down the speed at which the in-game clock counts down, "extending" the three-day cycle by approximately three times its normal length. This causes all characters and events which follow a specific time schedule to move at a slower pace. If the song is already in effect, it can be undone by playing the song again, restoring the original pace at which time passes.

Link can play the "Inverted Song of Time" on the Ocarina of Time by playing Down-C, A, Right-C, Down-C, A, Right-C. The actual pitches of the notes translate as follows: F, D, A, F, D, A. This song's lyric notes do not exist within Link's menu screen due to it simply being an altered form of the "Song of Time", as opposed to a unique and separate song.
