Item Bulbs are recurring items in the Legend of Zelda series. These acorn-shaped objects are very similar in function to pots; when one is struck or thrown, its contents, being either arrows, bombs, or Bombchus, are revealed. Subsequently, they regrow a short while after being destroyed; in this regard, they are similar to Bomb Flowers, which are also found resting on pads of ferns.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass[]

Item Bulbs are found in the Temple of Wind, Temple of Courage, and the Goron Temple. Item Bulbs in Phantom Hourglass only contain one type of item at a time. Item Bulbs bearing ammunition are often found near puzzles related to them, to reduce the need for backtracking.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks[]

Item Bulbs are found within the Tower of Spirits and other dungeons. They are also used to solve some puzzles in the Forest Temple.
