Item Cards are collectibles in the Adventure Mode of Hyrule Warriors and Hyrule Warriors Legends. They are used to unlock different rewards for completing a specific mission and are found by either completing the battle criteria or receiving a gift from a Network Link. There are twelve different items and they are all based on previous items from the Legend of Zelda series. Each item has a different use and animation.
Adventure & Master Quest Item Cards[]
Each of the following Item Cards can be found in both the standard Adventure Map and the DLC Master Quest Map:
Compass: Search an unexposed area of the map to see where other item cards can be used. | Bomb: Use on walls to find hidden caves. |
Candle: Use on trees to uncover hidden stairways. | Water Bomb: Use on rocks in the water to destroy them. |
Power Bracelet: Use to move heavy rocks, tomb stones, and statues to uncover hidden stairways. | Ice Arrow: Use on flaming circles to uncover hidden stairways. |
Digging Mitts: Use to dig into the ground that have been marked with green X's. | Hookshot: Use on distant targets to pull yourself towards them. |
Goddess's Harp: Use on small groups of Goddess Butterflies to make a Gossip Stone appear. | Raft: Use this on piers to get to the opposite shore. |
Recorder: Use on small bodies of water to reveal secrets and enemies. | Ladder: Use to move across a single space of water. |
DLC Map Item Cards[]
In addition to the 12 standard Item Cards that appear in the default Adventure Map (which also appear in the Master Quest DLC Adventure Map). While some of the default Item Cards (Compass, Bombs, Water Bombs, Digging Mitts, & Ice Arrows) also appear as Item Cards in these Maps (Twilight & Termina Maps), a few are unique to a specific DLC Map, usually based on Items found in Twilight Princess & Majora's Mask.
Twilight Map Item Cards[]
The Twilight Map has 11 different Item Cards in total. There are 7 new Item Cards based on Items from Twilight Princess , while 4 of the original Item Cards reappear as well.
Compass: Search an unexposed area of the map to see where other item cards can be used. | Bomb: Use this on boulders to reveal hidden staircases. |
Water Bomb: Use this on submerged rocks to destroy them. | Digging Mitts: Use these on soft earth to uncover hidden stairways. |
Fishing Rod: Use this to catch fish in bodies of water. | Lantern: Use on torches to uncover hidden enemies. |
Clawshot: Use this to pull yourself to a distant object. | Spinner: Use this on cog-shaped holes to reveal hidden staircases. |
Ooccoo: Use this on a green portal to warp to another location. | Jar: Use this on switches to reveal hidden staircases |
Tears of Light: Use these to clear away areas covered in Twilight to remove Twilight Rules. | Tears of Twilight: Use to reopen all areas affected by the Twilight Realm. |
Termina Map Item Cards[]
Like the Twilight Map, the Termina Map has 12 Item Cards in total. There are 9 new different Item Cards, all based on items from Majora's Mask, with 5 of them based on the Masks found in that game. Only 3 of the original Item Cards reappear on the Termina Map:

Song of Time: Play this on the search screen to reset all map squares to their starting state. | Inverted Song of Time: Play this on the search screen to add 10 hours back to the clock. |
Majora's Mask: Use this on the search screen to fill your Magic and SP gauges for one battle. | Mask of Truth: Use this on the search sceen to double your defense for one battle. |
Deku Mask: Use this on flowers to jump towards a neighboring map square. | Goron Mask: Use this on switches to reveal enemies. |
Zora Mask: Use this on whirlpools to reveal enemies. | Giant: Use all 4 Giant Item Cards on the square containing the Clock Tower to reveal a hidden section of the map. |
