Karane is a character from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. She is a senior at the Knight Academy who is described as being quite popular with her fellow male students; however, she is smitten with her fellow student Pipit. She wears the Skyloft Knight Uniform, consisting of a subdued green tunic and a beret-like hat. Her beret appears to be a unique part of her uniform, as she is the only female knight seen wearing one.

Unbeknownst to each other, both Pipit, a model student, and Cawlin, one of Groose's lackeys, have a crush on Karane. At one point, Cawlin asks Link to deliver a love letter to her. Link can either give the letter to Karane or a ghost in the restroom named Phoeni. If Link delivers it to Karane, he finds that Karane has no interest in Cawlin, but instead admires Pipit. If Link tells Pipit about Cawlin's love letter, Pipit decides to act on his feelings and asks Karane out. Happily, she agrees. Thankful that he has at last found a wonderful girlfriend, Pipit gives Link five Gratitude Crystals.

As many residents of Skyloft seem to be named after birds, it is possible that Karane is named after the crane.
