King Zora as he appears in-game

King Zora is found in the underwater castle in northern Zora Village. When Link first visits him in the past, he is sick on his death bed due to Veran's poisoning of the Zora Seas; in the present he has already passed away. Link must give him a Magic Potion he receives from Maple or Syrup. When Link asks to enter Jabu-Jabu's Belly, King Zora informs him that Lord Jabu-Jabu is much too small and Link is unable to do so yet. When Link returns in the present, however, he finds a healthy King Zora who once again tells him that he will be unable to enter Lord Jabu-Jabu due to sickness brought on by the polluted sea. Because of this, Link must first cleanse the Zora Seas in the past, preventing Jabu Jabu's sickness in the present. True to his word, King Zora gives Link permission to enter Jabu Jabu's Belly and receive the Essences of Time found inside.

If a linked version of The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons is played, a Zora will tell Link a secret that must be told to King Zora. Once Link tells King Zora, he will sharpen Link's sword and tell him the secret to sharpen his sword in Holodrum as well. If Link has the Wooden Sword King Zora will sharpen it into the Noble Sword. However if Link already has the Noble Sword he will sharpen it into the Master Sword.
