- "Oh...! I'm proud to present to you a sample of our very own Lon Lon Milk. You'll be energized the moment you drink it! After you drink it, you can bring back the bottle and buy a refill, anytime you want!"
- — Talon
Lon Lon Milk is a recurring item in the Legend of Zelda series. Lon Lon Milk is a delicious drink with nutritious healing properties produced by Lon Lon Ranch cows.
Appearances[]
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time[]
When Link completes Talon's Super Cucco-findin' Game, he is given a bottle full of Lon Lon Milk. Refills can be purchased for ten Rupees. If "Epona's Song" is played to a cow, it will provide Link with a free bottle of Lon Lon Milk, as long as he has an Empty Bottle. Each bottle of milk contains two servings that can be drunk separately. Each will restore five hearts. This is particularly useful early in the game when Link has so few hearts that a Red or Blue potion will restore fewer total hearts than the two milk servings.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker[]
Although Link cannot purchase it, Lon Lon Milk is written in Hylian on the chalkboard in the Cafe Bar as one of the items for sale.
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap[]
Malon sells Lon Lon Milk in Hyrule Town for 100 Rupees, after Link unlocks the ranch door. Like in other games, there are two helpings per bottle, each of which will restore five hearts. Early in the game, when Link has few hearts, the two milk servings can replenish more total health than a Red Potion. Also, Link can use each serving after taking minor damage to return to full health, and thus use the Sword Beam more often.
Initially, it was planned for Link to have the ability to turn Lon Lon Milk into Butter. However, this feature was removed from the final version of the game.
