This article is about the boss. For the character, see Kohga.

Master Kohga is a boss from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. He is first met as a character, Kohga, the leader of the Yiga Clan. During the fight in the Yiga Clan Hideout, he will switch between a variety of boulder based attacks. Master Kohga is notably the only evil boss in this game who is not a form or a phantom of Ganon. He is also the first Sheikah boss to be encountered as the DLC boss Monk Maz Koshia can only be fought in the Final Trial after all the Divine Beasts are freed.
Battle[]
Master Kohga can be defeated by using the Stasis Rune and Magnesis Rune, or hitting him in his head with an arrow, to stun him with his own boulders. Once stunned, most conventional weapons deal damage, but ranged ones will definitely be helpful as he often moves rapidly around the boss area. Eventually, he will unleash a massive boulder, large enough to obscure his view of Link, claiming it to be the ultimate technique of the Yiga Clan. However, the boulder ends up rolling towards him and falls down with him down the pit, with him declaring that the Yiga Clan will avenge him.
Defeating him allows Link to reclaim the stolen Thunder Helm for Gerudo Chief Riju. Vah Naboris generates highly powerful lightning making it impossible to enter the dungeon, and the helm is required to protect Link and allow him to access and free the Divine Beast.

- "The leader of the Yiga Clan, a group formed with just a single objective: eliminate Link. He sends his minions all over Hyrule in search of you but tends to spend most of his own time napping and generally loafing about. Despite this, his mastery of the esoteric arts has earned him a deep respect. Even if he were to die, his followers would never give up their one and only task."
