Mr. Write is a recurring character in the Legend of Zelda series. He is a scholar who has a hobby of writing letters, although he hardly ever receives replies.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening[]
Mr. Write lives in a house in the northern part of the Mysterious Woods. During the trading quest for the Magnifying Lens, Link is prompted to deliver a Letter to Mr. Write from Christine, a goat living in Animal Village. In the letter, she sends a picture of Princess Peach from the Super Mario Bros. series with her name on it, fooling the unbeknowing Mr. Write into thinking that he is corresponding with a Human. In return for the Letter, Mr. Write gives Link the Broom.
On the map screen, Mr. Write is referred to as "Weird Mr. Write".
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons[]
Mr. Write can be found in the south-eastern part of Horon Village. He effectively initiates the trading quest for the Noble Sword by giving Link a Cuccodex in exchange for lighting the Torches in his home with the help of Ember Seeds.
In-game, Mr. Write is referred to as the "Biologist".

Etymology[]
Mr. Write's appearance and name are inspired by the similarly-named Dr. Wright, a green-haired computer assistant who appears in the SNES version of SimCity and in turn is named after SimCity designer, Will Wright.
