- "You got Nayru's Love! Cast this to create a powerful protective barrier."
- — In-game description
Nayru's Love is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It is a magic spell that Link receives from the Great Fairy of Magic found near the Desert Colossus. At the cost of magic, it creates a blue crystal-like shield that envelops Link, preventing him from taking damage, though he will still be knocked back, or down, if hit by a powerful blow. While Nayru's Love is in effect, Link is unable to use any equipment or abilities that require the consumption of magic power. The spell ends after a certain amount of time has passed; when one use nears its end, the shield begins to blink before fading entirely. Once it has been activated, the player can't cancel out of it, even if it is removed from any of the C-Buttons while still in use, so the player will just have to wait until it wears off before accessing other items requiring the magic meter. The sole enemy that can cause damage while Nayru's Love is in use is Ganon, though the effect of his attacks will still be lessened.
