"You found a sword! Ooooh! We shouldn't tell Grandpa we're taking it. He'd worry himself sick. Good for us, though. Now we can defend ourselves from those monsters!"
Ciela

Oshus's Sword is a sword from The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. It is the first sword Link can obtain in the game. Oshus's Sword is almost identical to the Hero's Sword from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, except for the blue gemstone embedded in the hilt and the sheen of the blade

The sword is located in the Storehouse on Mercay Island. After Link cracks the code on the lock, he must take the sword inside in order to cut down the obstacles blocking Link's path to other parts of the island. Oshus provides Link with some training before giving his blessing for Link to use the sword. Further on in the game, the sword is replaced by the Phantom Sword once it has been forged from the three Pure Metals Link must obtain in his quest.

Instead of the regular practice of attack power increasing whenever a new sword is found like in most other Legend of Zelda games, attack power can be increased once Link collects enough Power Gems to enhance the powers of Leaf, the Spirit of Power. When the Spirit of Power is "equipped", Link's sword is set aflame, thus boosting attack power and allowing Phantoms and Reaplings to be stunned by hitting them from behind.
