Plats is a character from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. He is a Mogma living at Eldin Volcano. Plats is notably greedier than the other Mogmas. He does however, act kind towards Link, which shows that he does have some good inside.

- "Ahhh! So busy, so busy... Burning the midnight oil again looking for loot! Aghhh! A green monster! Ack... I can't believe they're following us down here now... Guess I can have some fun with him for now, though... Heh, heh, heh! You're on Mogma turf now, fiend! You may be scary, but as long as the way ahead of me is clear, you'll never catch me!"

Plats is first encountered in the Fire Sanctuary in an underground tunnel. Mistaking Link for a monster, he attempts to block off a path by closing a gate in order to hinder Link's progress. Link must catch him, at which point he realizes that Link is not his enemy. Plats then gives Link a Piece of Heart and tells Link that he's going to report in to Guld, opening the door to the deeper Sanctuary before he leaves.
When Link returns to Eldin Volcano to learn Eldin's part of the "Song of the Hero", he is captured by Bokoblins and robbed of a majority of his equipment. Plats is able to recover Link's Mogma Mitts and returns them to him, allowing Link to tunnel his way out of confinement.

Etymology[]
As many Mogmas seem to be named after minerals, it is possible that Plats' name is derived from platinum, similar to how his brothers seem to be named after Silver and Bronze.
