"That's what we call that volcano over there. Until recently, I had a job as a miner on Death Mountain... But ever since Divine Beast Vah Rudania showed up, we haven't been able to work the sites on Death Mountain. The company had to cut its workforce as a result, and I was let go... What do you do, eh? I miss the good ol' days..."
— Pyle

Pyle is a character from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. He is a Goron who works as a greeter at the Ripped and Shredded Armor shop in Goron City in Eldin Canyon, though reveals he was originally a miner working for the Goron Group Mining Company mining high value Ore Deposits on Death Mountain.

When the corrupted Divine Beast Vah Rudania reappeared on Death Mountain after a century of dormancy the company was forced to abandon these lucrative sites with only the Southern Mine in Eldin Canyon still operational thus unfortunately the company had to cut its workforce leading Pyle to be laid off and apparently got a job working as a greeter at Ripped and Shredded which caters primarily to Hylian tourists that brave the volcanic heat and treacherous mountain roads leading to Goron City providing them with flame resistant Flamebreaker armor designed to protect Hylians from the scorching volcanic heat of Eldin Canyon and Death Mountain. However despite finding a job he is mostly bummed out as he misses the good old days working on Death Mountain as there are few tourists to actually greet and simply sits outside. However he does take the time to tell Link about the crisis with Vah Rudania that lead to him losing his old job, unaware he is the presumed dead Hylian Champion and sworn brother of Goron Champion Daruk, who had been tasked by Princess Zelda through Impa with freeing the Divine Beasts from Ganon's control including Vah Rudania after awaking from the Slumber of Restoration.

Pyle's story helps illustrates how some of the Goron Group Mining Company's workforce were negatively effected by Vah Rudania's appearance.
