The Red Candle is an item from The Legend of Zelda. It is found in Level 7. It functions as a higher level version of the Blue Candle, serving to burn bushes in the Overworld to reveal hidden staircases and illuminate dark rooms in dungeons.

The difference is that the Red Candle can produce as many flames as Link wishes to make, whereas the Blue Candle can only make one flame per screen. The Red Candle makes looking for hidden doors behind brush in the Overworld easier, and can be used as a weapon in some situations. When Link acquires the Red Candle, it automatically replaces the Blue Candle in his inventory.

The Red Candle as it appears in-game The original Legend of Zelda is the only game in the series where two different candles are available. In the later games, Link either uses a single candle or another source of light, such as a lantern.

The Candle returns as an Item Card, however Link's 8-Bit Candle is absent due to all 8-bit weapons being replaced by Level 3+ weapons.
