Hyrule Compendium

The Royal Halberd is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is a spear with a base attack power of 26, though this may be increased by certain weapon bonuses. The halberd is originally issued to the Knights of Hyrule who guarded Hyrule Castle's throne room and is ornate design was applied by a craftsman in service to the Royal Family of Hyrule. Presumably these knights included the Royal Guard. As a result, one spawns in the castle armory. Unlike the Knight's Halberd and Rusty Halberd it has two wing-like axe blades around central its spear point giving it a Trident-like appearance despite being classified as a halberd. As with other "Royal" series equipment, "Silver" enemies (save for Silver Lynels) occasional wield them while Hinox wear them as necklace jewelry due to their ornamentation. Certain Stalnox have them longed in their skeletons such as the one in the Lockup of Hyrule Castle. Like most spears, it can be used to cut fallen logs from felled trees to acquire Wood though it cannot cut down trees as its spear point is unsuited for that task despite its axe heads as Link can only thrust with a polearm.

It was also apparently used as the basis for the Royal Guard's Spear which was created by Ancient Sheikah technology to combat Calamity Ganon, but lacked the Royal Halberd's durability made it an inefficient weapon and inferior to the Royal Halberd, despite having greater attack power.
